ABOUT: Sunand Santhanagopalan completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 2013. Before that he did his Masters from Michigan Technological University and his BE in Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai University. He was post doctoral research associate at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)) form 2014 – 2018. Since 2018 he is a Lecture and the director of Multi-Scale Energy Systems laboratory at UTA.

Previously, as Community Engagement Liaison, he focused on increasing outreach and involvement. Previously serving as Event Planning & Logistics Coordinator, she played a key role in organizing events that connected students with professionals. As Treasurer of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) for two semesters, he has managed finances, ensured compliance with university and national requirements, and played a key role in keeping the organization thriving. Last semester, he helped coordinate and represented SME at the university’s annual Industry Banquet, which saw record attendance after its post-COVID return. A reliable and committed leader, Christopher is passionate about supporting his fellow Mavericks and creating opportunities for students to engage with the manufacturing industry.
