Becoming a Member
National Membership
1. Visit www.sme.org.
2. Hover over “Membership”, and select “Become a member.” (You should be redirected to https://www.sme.org/sme-membership/join-sme/)
3. Under “Membership Levels & pricing”, select “Student Membership”
4. Select “One Year Membership: $20.00”, and click “Join now.”
5. Checkout and create an account. ***Be sure to select “University of Texas – Arlington S393” when prompted to select a Student Chapter***
Local Chapter Membership
1. Visit https://forms.gle/YNaGzCpu7bqnAnDAA.
2. Fill out the form where applicable.
3. Click “Submit” ***Be sure to select the payment method that works best for you. If cash, please pay your dues to a current officer or at the SME Office WH 201 ASAP***
4. Once the form is submitted a link should appear prompting you to chekout and pay. Only click the link and fill out your card infromation if you selected debit/credit for your payment method. Otherwise, you are done!

Retaining Membership
In order to be considered an Active member with SME Student Chapter S393 and receive a Cord upon graduation, the
following requirements must be met:
Must be a paid member upto the semester of graduation
Member must complete 4 Hours of Volunteering with SME
Member must attend 4 SME General Meetings
Member must attend 2 SME Socials/Events
Member must attend 1 Professional Development Workshop
OR
Must be a paid member upto the semester of graduation
Bring in a Speaker or Sponsorship from a Company
In order to apply for a Stole for graduation, the requirements above must be met and one of the below requirements must be met:
Be an Officer for SME
Have the Stole requirement sheet completed:
Get 2 New Paid Members for SME
Wear the SME Shirt at 4 separate SME events
Tag us on our Social Media at an SME event at least 4 times
